Special County Board Meeting via Telephone Conference

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
The County of Jersey will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 6:30pm, at County Administrative Building, 200 North Lafayette Street, Jerseyville, Illinois, 62052 to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed Downstate Small Business Stabilization application funded by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. Persons with disabilities or non-English speaking persons who wish to attend the public hearing and need assistance should contact Pam Warford, County Clerk, 200 North Lafayette Street, Jerseyville, Illinois, 62052, at 618-498-5571 no later than May 21, 2020. Every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations for these persons. At the present time, due to COVID-19 mandating, this meeting will be held via teleconference. On or about May 26, 2020, the County of Jersey intends to apply to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for a grant from the State CDBG program. This program is funded by Title 1 of the federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. These funds are to be used to provide working capital for the benefit of Heitzig Distributing. The total amount of CDBG funds to be requested is $25,000.00 and will address the urgent needs of the business due to the COVID-19 emergency.
Information related to this application will be available for review at least seven days prior to the public hearing at the Jersey County Board office lobby, 200 North Lafayette Street, Jerseyville, Illinois, 62052 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. In addition, the information will be available on the County’s website at www.jerseycountyillinois.us. Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding these issues either at the public hearing or by prior written statement.
